Week2

The quick transferring of information is highly important to many business related areas. In the world today information must be accurate and must be relayed quickly and efficiently to the areas it is needed the most. Only then is it most beneficial and effective. Many organizations employ large amounts of capital to achieve this.

In my entrepreneur class we have found that information that is readily available can be translated into knowledge that will reduce or eliminate the risk of the of an entrepreneur's endeavors. He relies on this transfer of information to quickly take advantage of opportunities as well as create his own opportunities for success. Also having a system for keeping track of all your business' information is highly critical to the success of your endeavors as well.

Macroeconomics also has a large tie into information systems. With the recent recession in the global economy, we saw the negative effects of the information systems we have in effect today. Because of 'false information' being spread so quickly there was no time to stop the damage, and the current recession was the eventual result. They reacted quickly using the same information systems that brought about the crisis to fix and to attempt to prevent future damage from occurring. The movie 'Breaking the Banks' was a great resource in learning the information about what really happened and what was done to fix/prevent damage. Movies themselves are an information system that has a powerful effect on the minds of those who watch.

Learning Model

The Learning model here at LDSBC is embedded within gospel and true principles. Starting with proper preparation we allow ourselves to be ready to learn, and to use knowledge. We then allow ourselves to embed the things we have studied through our preparation by teaching what we have learned and discussing it with others in and out of class. Finally we are allowed to ponder, and rethink the things we have learned with tests, quizzes, homework and similar activities.

We all use this process in learning in one way or another. Being able to focus on how true learning works is a great blessing. As with a favorite childhood cartoon of mine, 'Knowing is half the battle (G.I.Joes).'

My teacher made me do it, but that is just an excuse.
